NBCP Silk Screening Event – Sunday, APRIL 11, 5-8pm by katezidar

Take a break from screening compost to come try your hand at silk screening…and outfit yourself with a NBCP logo on your favorite item of clothing or printable object. We have always wanted a uniform for our members for when you come work at the site, and this is our chance to make our own.

Sunday April 11, between the hours of 5-8pm, come with your stuff, and a 5$ donation per item (we need a new fence!). If you are really a fan of free flowing compost in the neighborhood, bring a bunch of blank tshirts or tote bags (used or new) to screen up and trade throughout the season for donations (we really need a new fence!).

The studio (thanks NINA!) is in LIC across the street from PS1. Directions and room number forthcoming.

Thing is, space is limited, so you have to sign up for a time range on this calender, so we can get everybody through in an orderly fashion. Sign up for your preferred time slot by clicking here and using our Doodle calender for the event.

And for inspiration…here is our sweet logo:

Hello Composter!

Why help us screen last years compost harvest? Let me count the ways…

1. because you need compost, and screening it yourself is the easiest way to get it!

2. because you need WORMS for your new vermi bin, for a lucky friend or neighbor, or for as new pet (red wiggler worms are the happy byproduct of screening compost, come pick ’em)

3. because you love the compost project, and you want to get involved early and often this year

WE HAVE A CALENDAR FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL ON DOODLE. It is a self serve calender, and so click right through HERE and add your name to one of the Saturday or Sunday sessions this month.  In general, we will be working mid-days on Saturdays and late afternoons on Sunday.
