The weather is looking up and the pile has thawed and is ready to screen. The faster we screen, the sooner we can resume operations for the 2010 compost season! (STILL NO DROP OFFS YET, PLS)

We have scheduled screening days:

1. Tomorrow, Saturday March 20, 1-3pm
point person Ellen <ecovas@dsny.nyc.gov>

2. Sunday March 21, 3-5pm
point person “kelly” <kmorrison@gmail.com>

3. Saturday, March 27, 10:30am – 12:30pm
point person Erin  <erindetrick@gmail.com>

4. Sunday March 28, 3-5pm
point person “kelly” <kmorrison@gmail.com>

If you want to come screen – and take away the first batches of compost! – please reach out to your point people. If they dont know you are coming, they cant alert you to changes in weather conditions at the pile, etc.

A community compost is an excellent idea, it is also a great way to connect with family members especially the young. They need to learn that food does not come from a grocery store.
