We got started today on a few fall activities, learning about leaf composting (thanks, Greenmarket for partnering on the workshop!) and doing a fall feeding of our favorite tree to commemorate It’s My Park Day. Can’t wait till next weekend! More worms and leaves!
Vodpod videos no longer available. In case you can’t make it tonight to our meetup tonight at Alligator Lounge from 7-9pm…
Here is a rundown of our fall programs until the season closes. Email northbrooklyncompost@gmail.com if you want to jump in and support these events!

FALL COMPOSTING WORKSHOP w/GREENMARKET
We will be doing a workshop at the Greenmarket on fall composting…and preparing for this year’s enormous leaf pile in the triangle area, which will grow and grow as the leaves fall and fall. Come help us kick off our giant leaf nest and learn about fall composting.

PRE-HALLOWEEN WORM BIN WORKSHOP
On our last day of operations, we want to send our members home with everything they need to compost all winter long. Kate will be on hand to demonstrate an indoor vermicomposting system, and worms will be available on an all-you-can-pick basis. There will also be raking going on for the leaf pile. Volunteer with any part of the workshop or preparations!

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 6, 9AM-1PM
POST-HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN SMASH
Bring your dead jack-o-lanterns and smash them, gratifyingly, against a wall. It’s going to be awesome. Volunteer this day. There will also be raking going on for the leaf pile.
